Julius Berger launches literacy campaign in schools FCT

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in operational communities, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc donated books and writing materials to students at Gwarinpa Government Secondary School, Life camp, Abuja, FCT .

A press release from the company’s media unit on Friday in Abuja said Julius Berger CSR Team Leader Mr. Kola Balogun while addressing students and staff at the school , said the donation was intended to help students improve their literacy and writing skills.

“At Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, student welfare has always been our primary concern and providing the necessary educational materials for conducive learning remains our priority.

“The Julius Berger literacy campaign will help students to always perform at their best. We are here to enable students to try harder in their reading skills,” Balogun added.

In response, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Irene Mojisola Akerele, appreciated the efforts made by the company saying, “Julius Berger has made a lasting donation to our school and I would like to sincerely thank the company for their efforts. and his contributions so far.

“We are happy that the company has never stopped giving, especially to FCT schools. These books will go a long way in helping students and boosting their zeal for reading.

“We thank Julius Berger for bringing this literacy campaign to schools, as we want the passion for reading in our students to be continuously stimulated.”

Likewise, the Deputy Director of Administration, Mrs. Josephine Chizoba Ugwu described the day as very special for the school.

“I would like to sincerely thank the management of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc for making today a very special day for our school.

“The society has added a sparkle to the school by offering the Julius Berger Literacy Campaign to improve the learning capacity of the Nigerian child,” she said.
